The Princess Bridge/ The Amazing Spider-man (2012)
Hero's Journey
The first convention that I am going to write about and also in the first step of The Hero's Journey is the "Ordinary World". The Ordinary World is usually the first scene of the movies and tell how the heroes live in their everyday life. Some of them shows the problem of the heroes.
The first example of the "Ordinary World" is from the movie name " The Amazing Spider-man (2012)" directed by Marc Webb. The Ordinary World shows the high school boy who live with his uncle and aunt. We will see how he live with his uncle and aunt in the Ordinary World, how happy he is. The film shows how Ordinary World and Special World affect to him. Parker is the normal high school boy, but his father is the scientist that makes Peter crossover to the Special World. In the film we can tell that he is a good boy and also good at science. We learn how the family have a different thought and idea in sometimes. In the Ordinary World is simple and easy to understand, however Ordinary World is the way that make hero's crossover to the Special World.
The second example of the "Ordinary World" is from the movie name " The Princess Bridge" directed by Rob Reiner. The Ordinary World of The Princess Bridge shows Westley the farm boy who work for Buttercup. In the film, the Ordinary World is very simple and easygoing. It shows how they live in the farm with an animals around them. They fall in love together and enjoy their life. We cannot see how he will be a hero. However, when he leave his Ordinary World when he leaves the farm to board his ship and Buttercup have to marry Prince Humperdink. Westley have to help Buttercup, that make him become a hero.
When you compare the step of two movies you can see how different of the 'Ordinary World' that is very emotions and be used in the different way. In The Amazing Spider-man it shows how Peter's parent pass away by accident so he have to live with his uncle and aunt. He tries to find out whats happen to his parent. This is make him crossover to the superhero. In the film The Princess Bridge, the hero is happy with his life. Living in the farm with the woman he love which is different to The Amazing Spider-man.
The second convention that I am going to write about is "Return with the elixir". It is the last step hero's journey. Return with the elixir is usually tell the end of the movie, how everything end up and how hero's come back to their normal life.
The first example of the "Return with the elixir" of The Amazing Spider-man is when Dr. Cornors has been returned back to normal and his plans as the lizard has been stopped. And Parker save Gwen from the danger but her father was killed. This part of the movie shows that everything come back to their Ordinary World but Peter has promise to Gwen father that he will get away from Gwen life to make her save. This Return with the elixir is not end up with the happiness like some other movies. The sadness of Gwen make her disappointing in Peter very much and they have not see each other again.
The second example of the "Return with the elixir" of The Princess Bridge is when Westley, Buttercup, Inigo, and Fezzik escape from the castle and going back to their Ordinary World. This film shows the happiness of Westley and Buttercup. They are each other true love and they live together like the very first of the movie. The bad people were punished. Fezzik and Inigo go back to their normal life and the story is happy ending,

In the film The Amazing Spider-man the bad guys turned back to the normal life and stopped the plan as the lizard. However, Peter is promise with Gwen pather that he will get away from Gwen to make her safe. On the other hand, in the film The Princess Bridge Westley and Buttercup goes back to their normal life and happy with their life. They spend their life together and enjoy with everything.
